At Gloucester Road Medical Centre, we are very fortunate to have a wider team of clinicians from other medical backgrounds who specialise in particular areas of patient care.

Physicians Assistants

Physicians Assistants (PA) are healthcare professionals who have been trained on a medical based model. They are dependent practitioners working with a dedicated GP supervisor but are able to work autonomously with appropriate support.

They have varying competencies and work the same way as a GP, but they are not able to: prescribe, request chest x-rays or CT scans or provide care/treatments to patients in an unsupervised setting.
