It has been brought to the attention of our clinicians that there is some confusion among the public regarding Covid-19 testing.

If you have symptoms of Covid-19, you need to contact 119 or 111 online to organise a PCR test. The home-based, lateral flow tests are not appropriate for people who have symptoms of Covid-19 and should not be used for this.

We are continuing to work hard to keep our patients and staff safe during the ongoing pandemic, and we want to make sure that people aren't being falsely reassured by negative lateral flow tests if they have COVID symptoms. These might include a fever, cough, shortness of breath or loss of their sense of taste/smell.
